Shapeshifting a Rainbow: Becoming Iris (2015)

'Shapeshifting a Rainbow: Becoming Iris' is an endurance performance combining Shibari, Japanese rope bondage, with Shibori, Japanese tie-dyeing, on the human form. Shibari rigger Tony Rogers, painters Christine Josephine and Harper Leich, and musician Phluter Phill Huber collaborated in creating this piece, the third in Nesseth's 'Rainbow Series;’ with Victoria Jones and Victoria Calliope attending. The work explores compassionate restraint, race and gender queer consciousness, while remaining interwoven with her more familiar majickal and mythological terrain. The piece was documented by Mignon Petrini, Lindsay Bostic, Jeffrey DeCristofario and Raven Tenderfoot.
